Who we are

About the institute

Global Shapers Institute is a registered institute in Ljubljana and the Ljubljana hub of the Global Shapers Community, which the World Economic Forum started in 2011 and which is active in more than 500 cities. The institute is run by volunteers aged 18 to 30.

Before we put a candidate forward, they pass three rounds: an eligibility check, two assessments and a conversation with our team.

01 — How we work

Before you get in touch

  1. 01

    A volunteer team

Everyone here does this alongside a job or a degree.

  2. 02

    A person reads every request

    There is no automatic scoring.

02 — Where we stand

On the record, and checkable

The name comes from a World Economic Forum initiative, but we select the candidates for companies ourselves. The Global Shapers Community’s 2024–2025 annual report counts 11,400 Global Shapers and 512 hubs in 146 countries and territories.

On 17 September 2026 the President of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, received members of the institute at the Presidential Palace. Keeping talent in Slovenia was among the subjects on the official record.

Since 2024 we have run one edition of the Pot do uspeha entrepreneurship school every year, as one of the network’s organisers. In the same period we have held talks, workshops and debates at Impact Hub Ljubljana. We have also taken the workshop “Od koncepta do produkta” into Gimnazija Vič, Gimnazija Kranj and Gimnazija Bežigrad.
